Unit Assistant(Health Unit Coordinator)
Working directly with floor Charge nurse, my job was to assist nursing staff with secretarial support. Responsible for answering all phone calls and patient call lights. Also responsible for maintaining patients charts and all unit paperwork. I scheduled patients tests, procedures and appointments. I ordered supplies for the unit, both medical and office. I was in charge of equipment on the unit and it was my job to borrow, return and send equipment to appropriate departments for repair. My most important duty was helping our members, their families and our hospital staff with any questions, concerns or needs. Ensuring that we were providing the best care possible.
